Sneeky Diversion remained unbeaten in two starts with a wire-to-wire score in the $100,000 Northern Lights Futurity at Canterbury Park.
Bred by Scott Pierce, the 2-year-old gelding by Majesticperfection was sold by Legacy Bloodstock at last year’s Keeneland September sale. He races in the colors of Lothenbach Stables.
Sneeky Diversion, who eight days earlier broke his maiden at first asking, battled for the lead with eventual fourth place finisher Well Pro for a half-mile before prevailing by 1 1/2 lengths over closer Fitzpatrick in 1:09.80.
Two other Legacy Bloodstock sales grads scored on the rich Wednesday card at Canterbury.
Fasig-Tipton October grad Stylin N Profilin, also bred by Scott Pierce, broke his Maiden by 4 3/4 lengths in the opener for owners Barry and Joni Butzow. Pierce-bred swept the early double one race later when Big Falcon Rocket, sold by Legacy at Keeneland November, winning an Allowance by 1 1/2 lengths.
