Too Much Action became the latest Legacy Bloodstock sales grad to earn a black type Stakes victory with an emphatic 4 1/4-length triumph in the $75,000 David E. Hopper S. at Sam Houston. The Hopper was one of five Stakes on the track’s important Texas Preview Day card.
Bred in Texas by Mike G. Rutherford, Too Much Action was sold by Legacy Bloodstock at the 2020 Keeneland September sale for $23,000, making him the highest-price yearling by his sire Too Much Bling that year. Now racing for the partnership of Jeff & Penny Scott, Bradley Thoroughbreds LLC and Danielle & Parker Ferguson the 5-year-old is now a 5-time winner of $214,871.
He’s trained by J. R. Caldwell and was ridden to victory in the Hopper by Fernando Jara.
Following the wire-to-wire victory by No More Time in the February 12 Sam F. Davis S. (G3), a prep for the Kentucky Derby, Too Much Action is the second new Stakes-winning Legacy Bloodstock Keenelend September grad in the February.
