Silent Rule took her record to a perfect three-for-three with a front-running victory in the First Lady Stakes at Mahoning Valley Monday.
Bred by T/C Stables LLC out of the Candy Ride mare Modern Lady, Silent Rule was sold by Legacy Bloodstock at the 2022 Keeneland September sale. She’s the 17th Stakes-winning Legacy Bloodstock sales grad of 2024.
The daughter of Street Boss was squeezed back at the break and was near the back of the field in the early strides before rushing up through the pack and grabbing the lead along the rail as the quarter went up in :22.96. She opened a clear advantage in upper stretch and just held off favored Practicallyelusive at the wire.
The sophomore filly races in the colors of Jay P. Bernardini and is trained by John Hoctel.
Silent Rule romped home an 11 1/2-length debut winner going six furlongs against state-bred company Aug. 10 at Thistledown. She just got on top in the final strides to add a six-furlong allowance tally to her resume at that oval Sept. 2.
